What can I expect if I come to worship at New Horizons Church of the Nazarene?

Sunday Worship

We gather for worship every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in our sanctuary. Our services typically last about 60–70 minutes and include a blend of modern worship songs and familiar hymns.

Throughout the service, we pray together, sing, read Scripture, and hear a message centered on God’s Word. Each week we follow the Revised Common Lectionary, a shared schedule of Bible readings used by many churches around the world. These passages shape our worship and our sermon.

You’ll also notice a few practices that have been part of the Christian faith for generations. We invite those who are able to give financially in support of the church’s mission, and together we recite the Apostles’ Creed, an ancient statement of Christian faith that reminds us of what we believe. During the service, there is also an opportunity to come forward for prayer if you would like.

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday. We believe Communion is a gift of God’s grace, and everyone who desires to receive Christ and His grace is welcome at the Lord’s Table, regardless of church membership or denominational background.

Children

Children are always welcome in worship. We know that children learn to worship by worshiping alongside the church family.

For younger children, we provide activity bags with quiet items to help keep busy hands engaged, and there is a gated area at the back of the sanctuary for toddlers who need a little extra room to move with their caregiver.

About halfway through the service, children are invited to come forward for a blessing before heading downstairs for a Bible lesson designed especially for them. Children’s ministry is led by our pastoral team and trusted volunteers who have been carefully screened and trained.
